Eleven more secondary school students are benefiting from KenGen scholarships this year, thanks to the KenGen Givers and partners. This brings to 31 the number of needy students who have joined various secondary schools countrywide on the KenGen Education Scholarship program.

The Foundation in February announced eight extra scholarships to be funded directly by KenGen Givers Fund. Two more scholarships were awarded by our partner, Bamburi Cement to benefit primary schools that excelled in the pilot GIC program.

The KenGen Scholarship program was launched in 2005 to provide financial support to disadvantaged, bright students pursuing both secondary and university education in areas around our facilities. The program celebrated its 10th anniversary last year and boasts more than 500 beneficiaries. The scholarship provides full school fees for the entire secondary and university education.
